This is ane-mail that I sent to the Linux User Group of Rochester (LUGOR) re thoughts I have had re installing my next Fedora:<\/p>\n

I am eagerly awaiting Fedora 22 when it comes out…<\/p>\n

In poking around tonight,\u00a0 I ran across a bookmark that
\nI first recorded a month or so ago about the Korora<\/a> remix
\nof Fedora 21.\u00a0 From what I can tell reading distro watch
\nand other sites,\u00a0 Korora fits the Fedora open source ecosystem
\nthe way that the long dormant Omega 14 was when I first started
\ngetting back to Linux a decade ago.\u00a0 Omega was an excellent
\nattempt to remix Fedora in a way\u00a0 similar to how Ubuntu and
\nMint now provide remixes of Debian.<\/p>\n

Rob Raiman told me about the Omega 14 Fedora remix at a Lugor
\nmeeting or follow on Quimbies dinner circa the times (2004-2006)
\nI first started going to Lugor meetings after moving back to ROC.<\/p>\n

Omega has since gone dormant.\u00a0 From what I can tell,
\nKorora is a current remix that purports to do for Fedora
\nwhat Ubuntu and Mint do for Debian and each other.<\/p>\n

I plan on attending the next Lugor dinner May 21.\u00a0 By then
\nI will have tried Korora 21 in my secondary Intel x86-64
\nreal time weather radar box that currently runs Mint 17.<\/p>\n

The release version of Korora 22 will probably
\nbecome available about a month or so after Fedora 22’s
\nupcoming release..<\/p>\n

That said,\u00a0 I will be able to talk about my experiences with
\nKorora 21 in conversation at with Lugor colleagues at our
\nMay 21 stamtisch…<\/p>\n
